According to the US Department of Health and Human Service’s Administration for Community Living, “evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs reduce the need for more costly medical interventions.” Health in Action is an evidence-based program offered free of charge to groups in Delaware, Fairfield, Fayette, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Pickaway, and Union counties.

Health in Action (formerly Healthy U) is made possible through the Ohio Department of Aging and Older Americans Act Title III-D funds, which are designated to promote evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs. Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging works in collaboration with many local partners to bring this program to individuals and organizations.
