Mission of Aging Solutions
Aging Solutions’ priority is to support the health and safety of vulnerable older adults and people with disabilities and help keep them living independently at home. Aging Solutions provides support to the individuals receiving case management through the Central Ohio Area Agency on Aging (COAAA) and provides emergency financial assistance for one-time rent, security deposits, and utilities, as well as food, prescriptions, medical purchases and safety repairs, fans and space heaters, and other essential support.
Your Support Helps Vulnerable Older Adults & Individuals with Disabilities Remain Independent
Your donation to Aging Solutions helps older adults and people with disabilities maintain their health and safety. One hundred percent of your donation is dedicated to services and supports that help keep people living independently at home, whether they live alone or with a relative in a house, apartment or senior building, were formerly in a nursing facility, or were homeless and are now moving into their own place.
There are times when a small amount of financial support can make a big difference. Many of the consumers served by COAAA have limited income or are required to have limited income to receive services. They occasionally have urgent needs that are not covered by any other funding source.

Annual Gift Drive
The annual Gift Drive provides COAAA consumers with gifts at the end of the year. For many of the individuals, it’s the only present they get at the holidays. COAAA case managers identify people they serve and verify what they wish for; often it is items such as blankets, winter coats, bedding, towels, and other minor luxuries or everyday necessities. Donors are matched to requests and fulfill gift requests in December.
In 2022, approximately 1,500 gifts were given by donors through Chase, Nationwide, AEP, Besa, Fleet Feet Columbus, and more. The kindness and generosity of these donors bring smiles to the staff and people served by COAAA.
The Holiday Gift Drive was started in 2006 by Judy Camp, a registered nurse who dedicated her life to the care of senior citizens. She was inspired to start the gift program because of a thank you note she received from a nursing home resident who had received a Christmas card from Camp. In the first year of the program, Camp and her daughter Mary Donahue sponsored gifts for 100 seniors. The gift drive has continued to grow each year and is an amazing legacy of Judy Camp, who passed away in 2010. It is a labor of love for Donahue, who is an Aging Solutions board member and continues to provide leadership to the program in honor of her mother.
